Keep the entire team and performance space in the frame at all times. Make sure the top of the frame includes enough headroom for jumps and stunts while the bottom shows footwork and formations. If needed, use a wide-angle lens to avoid cutting off any movements.
2. Stabilize the Camera
Use a tripod or stabilizer to avoid shaky footage, which can distract judges. Smooth panning and minimal camera movement help maintain focus on the team’s performance and allows for clear evaluation of the routine.
3. Light the Space Effectively
Ensure the performance area is well-lit. Natural light works best, but if indoors, use bright, even lighting to avoid shadows. Poor lighting can obscure movements and reduce the overall quality of the video.
4. Capture High-Quality Audio
Make sure the music is clear and audible by using an external audio source, if possible, to sync the music directly with the video. Alternatively, film in a space where the audio from speakers is crisp without excessive echo or background noise.
5. Use Multiple Takes
Record the routine multiple times to ensure you capture the best performance. Review each take for any mistakes or technical issues before submitting. Editing software can also help with minor adjustments if needed.
These tips will help ensure that your team’s performance shines and is presented clearly to the judges.
